Happy springtime! I was lucky enough to adopt a few new pepper, eggplant and lemon basil plants today, and hopefully with some good sun and soil, we can reap the benefits later in the season.

Last month was a busy one for shows and opportunities, I was in a kite show at Masthead Studios at 4th and Brown sts.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

It's almost over, but here's some kind of update. Christmas passed, New Year's passed, the cold, did pass, but may come back tomorrow? In any case, it's time to clean out the studio, rediscover all the countless supplies and paper bits I have and do something with them! That's what I've been doing, instead of blogging about what I'm doing. Pics to come. Promise.

Emily, Lauren and I have been busy this month with Seedworks, our space to make and sell kitchen wares and other goodies. We participated in many a craft fair round town, and it's good to be making things that people like!

We have a giant weed tree in our backyard. I want to use the leaves and shells to illustrate Anpao a story of a young half twin indian boy looking for the palace of the sun. What better way to do it than on sponge like leaves bigger than my head?

Working from home on fabric related things, learning how to sew again. Lauren, Emily and I made reusable sandwich baggies and baked treats for craft fairs around town. More fun than I thought, glad to have done them and excited for more. Jeff and I are moving north soon, packing up and closing up the studio. We will both be working from our future home so hopefully, all will go well and we'll both get lots of things done. Here are a few pics of the ole studio.

Mono types never felt so good!

I found an old window pane on my block and convinced Jeff to take it back to the studio late one night. The glass is perfect for rolling a dark ground on and wiping whiter areas clean for mono types. Who says you need a press for printing? Mine is a wooden spoon.

Hello again,
The past few weeks have been busy with traveling round to visit with family and friends, warehouse shows and release parties and studio time, always studio time. Needless to say, I've yet to post any of the evidence, until tonight. I will try to start in the past and end in the now, wish me luck.

i keep pushing myself to go bigger i hope to do that with these wall paintings. the tea bag books were a slight failure, a hair too large to fit inside without destroying the bag itself. a sign from above to bite the bullet and go big!

Local visit to the Children's Literature Research Dept. at the Free Library brought me to this gem

An old French Fable that tells the tale of a trickster fox who was described as " a murderer, a thief and a vagabond" who is sentenced to death unless he convinces a king to trade his life for silver and gold.

I'm hoping to start cutting linoleum for my teabag books inspired by said critter, still working on drawings and paintings before I start carving away.
